Commonsense Wisdom

I have become a huge fan of the Dog Whisperer. Cesar Milan rehabilitates dogs by teaching their owners to become calm and assertive. In the process they learn so much more than how to control their dogs. It is always about the owners because dogs are just being dogs. Even the most aggressive and out-of-control dog becomes balanced when the humans that care for them take charge. In the process, the humans have to face reality, dogs are dogs, not humans.

The toughest cases are not the most vicious dogs; they are the cases where the humans do not want to change themselves. I occasionally get judgmental about the humans who refuse to face themselves. They prefer to put their desires ahead of the well-being of their pets and I believe that this is selfish.

A recent quote:
We have to project and we have to create it in the mind… what we want from the dog and what we want from us.
– Cesar Milan, Dog Whisperer
